The Procurement officer purchases equipment, supplies, materials, consumables, and other items used during civil construction works.
Procurement officers are responsible for assessing products, services and suppliers and negotiating contracts. They are also responsible for ensuring that approved purchases are of a sufficient quality and are cost-efficient.
Procurement officers require computer literacy, analytical thinking, business analysis and a sound understanding of the requirements and specifications for all inputs (material quality, compliance with Australian Standards etc)
